This October the school will be hosting the launch of Chet Ross' new book - 'Lieutenant Nobu Shirase and the Japanese Antarctic Expedition of 1910-1912' - A Bibliography'

This unique publication bring together for the first time a detailed bibliographical record of publications concerning the expedition many never know of outside of Japan. This work is further complemented by details of the expedition and the life of its leader Nobu Shirase.

While Shirase and his expedition have long been recognised in Japan their work has received little or no study anywhere else until Chet's study.

Attendees at the school will also have the opportunity to hear Chet give a lecture on the expedition over the weekend
